How to edit a QR code after printing

You cannot rewrite the pixels of a printed static QR. To edit after printing, you need a dynamic QR that redirects through a short link you control.

Why static codes cannot be edited

A static QR stores the final URL inside the pattern. Changing that URL changes the pattern, so stickers and packaging would need a reprint.

Edit with a free dynamic QR

Steps:

  • Create a free dynamic QR and set the first destination URL
  • Download the PNG and print or place it
  • Save the private manage link (treat it like a password)
  • Later, open manage and change the destination—or switch to a link page

Tips that prevent reprints

Always use dynamic codes for materials you cannot easily replace. Test the scan on multiple phones before a large print run. Do not share your manage URL publicly.

FAQ

Will the printed QR look different after I edit?

No. The pattern stays the same; only the destination behind the short link changes.

What if I lose the manage link?

Without the edit token you cannot update that code. Create a new dynamic QR and replace the print if needed.
